This is a complete cryostat with a helium and nitrogen Dewar. The pumping "tee" is attached to the helium Dewar through the top of the housing and provides fill and vent ports with interior access and a vacuum connection. The Dewar's are mounted in an aluminum housing which allows observations to be made through slots. Temperatures in the 1.2°K range can be reached by pumping over helium. The vacuum valve allows purging and re-evacuation between runs. Pumping of approximately 100u allows other gas besides helium to freeze out when the Dewar is full. The nitrogen Dewar is sealed off in the 5 x 10-8 mm Hg region. The top of the housing holds a filling funnel and vent.
