(12) A compact reflux dividing device, with low heat loss below the reflux divider. Virtually all reflux is produced above divider, resulting in precise reflux count. Will operate satisfactorily to 510ºC equivalent atmospheric vapor temperature.
Condensate running down the walls from condenser is collected in a ring, integral with the walls of the tower, and led through two tubes from opposite sides of ring to the take-off point at the center of the tower. Total condensate is taken off as distillate or is returned to the tower as reflux. Timer operation lifts the valve, allowing distillate to be taken off. Supplied with 24 VDC electromagnet, valve cap, valve rod, thermocouple, and clamps.
(12) A new compact design reflux dividing head, with low heat loss below the reflux divider section. Reflux is produced above the divider, resulting in precise reflux count. Will operate up to 400ºC equivalent atmospheric vapor temperature. Condensate formed in condenser collects in ring-shaped tray, and is directed to the PTFE ball valve take-off in the center of the divider. Total condensate is taken off as distillate or is returned to the column as reflux. The valve is controlled by a magnet which is energized by a repeating cycle timer. Supplied with 24 VDC electromagnet, valve cap, valve rod, thermocouple, o-ring socket joint, and clamps.
(4) Dividing section of the head has a strip-silvered vacuum jacket. Jacket is equipped with internal bellows to allow for expansion due to temperature differential. Jacket is evacuated to 5 x 10-8 mm Hg. Takeoff is controlled by means of a swinging bucket with a glass-enclosed iron core, energized by an external solenoid. In normal position reflux is returned to the column; when energized, condensate is directed to the take-off. Supplied with AC magnet, o-ring ball joint connecting tube, thermocouple, and clamps.
